This is my furriend Connor!

Connor’s mom is an eye doctor, so when he was little and his eyes started turning in his mom knew he would need some glasses! She took him to a friend who is an eye doctor just for kids!

Connor has something called accommodative esotropia, those are big words that mean his eye turns in when he’s trying to look at something up close. He needed glasses with bifocals and he needed to wear a patch sometimes.

Connor did a really good job wearing his glasses and using his bifocals and patching. His one eye still needed a little bit more help though. That’s when he started a new vision adventure called vision therapy!

Vision therapy is like extra workouts for your eyes! It requires a lot of work and dedication. Connor works hard because he wants his eyes to be super strong!

For some of the exercises, Connor wears special glasses that have red and blue lenses. For other exercises he uses a computer. Just like exercises for other muscles in your body, these can be hard to do! Sometimes his eye muscles get tired.

After each eye exercise he gets a score telling him how well his eye is doing. Sometimes Connor gets a very high score and he likes that a lot! He works really hard to get a good score. Other times Connor doesn’t get a high score. That makes him sad, because Connor wants to do a good job and make his eyes stronger.

Connor doesn’t let a bad day stop him though! He always tries his best! He makes me very purrrroud!
