This is my furriend Ellie!

When Ellie was a baby her eyes crossed, so she went to see an eye doctor. The doctor said a lot of babies’ eyes can cross sometimes and that she would probably grow out of it by the time she turned one!

When Ellie turned one, her eye was still crossing, so her mom took her back to the eye doctor. The eye doctor said that Ellie should start patching!

Patching helped for a little while, but eventually her eye started crossing again and this time it was both eyes.

Ellie started wearing glasses to help with her eye turning. She tried a lot of different prescriptions, none of them quite fixed the problem though so Ellie was going to need surgery on her eyes.

But Ellie’s eye doctor suddenly moved away! Oh no!

Ellie found a new eye doctor who she really liked! The eye doctor wanted to try just a few more glasses ideas before doing surgery.

None of those worked though and Ellie’s new doctor said it was time to do the eye surgery.

Ellie had her first eye surgery in June of 2024. It was a little bit scary sometimes, but she did a great job!

Ellie might need more surgeries to fix her eyes when she’s older, but I know she can handle it! She’s one of my bravest furriends and she’s my hero!
