This is my furriend Olivia!
When Olivia was 9 months old she was not able to see very well. Because she couldn’t see very well, she stopped learning new things and things she knew how to do got harder.
At 3.5 years old Olivia had a full vision and hearing exam. They found out Olivia had hyperopia and amblyopia! That meant her eyes need help to see up close and also her eyes and brain had a hard time communicating. That made it very hard to do things!
She got glasses for the first time and LOVED how she could see everything!
Olivia started patching 4 hours everyday! She was not a fan at first, but she did a great job! She knew how important it was for her vision.
Olivia did so well that her eyes got better and she didn’t have to do as much patching every day.
But then, Olivia’s eyes got worse again and she had to go back to patching everyday for 3-4 hours. This was really hard for Olivia, and she was frustrated. But then she started patching with me and that’s a lot of fun!
Now she patches 2 hours every day with me and she sees her eye doctor every 3-4 months. We are patching pals! She’s working hard for her purrrrrrfect vision and I’m so purrroud of her.
